Welcome first semester students @ EUREF-Campus Berlin

08.10.2024

Today marked the start of our new MBA students at the EUREF Campus. Together with Schneider Electric, Convex Energy, Wilo, Arcadis and SPIE, the cooperation partners of the EUREF Talent Campus, Karin Teichmann, board member and spokesperson of EUREF AG, welcomed the new “Impact Makers” in the field of sustainability. This was followed by presentations given by the business partners, campus tours by Inpolis and some ice-breaking and team-building activities on the EUREF square.

80 students to start on the EUREF campus

This winter semester, around 80 students are starting one of the four internationally recognized, English-language Master’s courses: Energy Management, Building Sustainability, Energy Law or Sustainable Mobility Management. These programs have a modular and interdisciplinary structure and prepare students for expert and management positions in the fields of energy, construction, mobility and law. The prerequisites for admission are a first academic degree and at least one year of professional experience.

Connecting research, teaching and business

For over a decade, students at the Technische Universität Berlin have been working on the EUREF-Campus on the key issues of the shift in energy policy. By working closely with companies, start-ups and research institutions, students make valuable contacts at an early stage. They are involved in forward-looking projects, such as the efficient production of green hydrogen or innovative solutions for storing renewable energy, or collaborate to develop new ideas. This strong connection between research, teaching and business creates a win-win situation for everyone involved.

Careers in the fields of environment, climate, energy and mobility

Karin Teichmann highlighted this successful concept of the EUREF-Campus repeatedly during her welcoming speech and encouraged the students to actively establish contact with the companies based on the campus – after all, the EUREF-Campus thrives on exchange and daily interaction. Whether it’s an internship, working student activity or starting a job directly after the MBA course: the opportunities for a career with our Europe-wide and internationally active business partners in the fields of environment, climate, energy and mobility are endless. What they all have in common is a strong commitment to sustainability and the success of the energy and mobility transition. The CEO of the SPIE Group, Gauthier Louette, was quoted as saying: “I want SPIE employees to say to themselves when they get home from work: I did something for the planet today.” This sums up the motivation that drives the EUREF community in general.

Successful concept coming soon to the EUREF Campus in Düsseldorf

From 2024, the successful concept of the Berlin Talent Campus will also be implemented on the new EUREF-Campus in Düsseldorf. Four universities and colleges, the Technical University of Dortmund, the Ruhr University Bochum and the University of Duisburg-Essen as well as the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSD), will be involved in designing and implementing the courses. The first courses will start in the winter semester of 2025.

The innovative exchange between science and business, which has already been practiced on the EUREF-Campus Berlin for years, will thus also be continued in Düsseldorf – with the aim of training the next generations of specialists and managers for the challenges of the energy transition.
